About Prism Nutrition

Prism Nutrition is a neurodivergent-affirming dietitian practice based in Caringbah, Sydney, with telehealth available Australia-wide. The practice supports young people and adults with nutrition concerns including ARFID, neurodivergence-related eating challenges, executive functioning barriers, irregular eating, POTS/dysautonomia, and complex or stressful relationships with food.

Prism Nutrition is run by Kara (she/her), an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, AuDHDer, and fellow spoonie who brings professional knowledge and lived experience to her work. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and weight-neutral, with an understanding that nutrition support needs to work with a person’s brain, body, capacity, and circumstances.

Rather than expecting clients to mask, push through discomfort, or follow strategies that don’t fit their needs, sessions can be adapted around sensory preferences, energy levels, chronic illness, executive functioning, communication needs, and everyday demands. There’s room to slow things down, take breaks, ask questions, and explore practical approaches that feel more manageable.

Support can include navigating food variety and adequacy, sensory differences around food, meal planning and preparation barriers, irregular eating patterns, and the impact of neurodivergence or chronic illness on eating. The aim is to provide nutrition care without judgement or unnecessary pressure, while recognising that eating can be complicated by far more than knowing what you’re “supposed” to eat.

Prism Nutrition supports children aged 8–16, young adults, adults, mature-age clients, families, and parents/carers. Areas of interest and expertise include ADHD, autism, PDA, anxiety, ARFID, and OCD.
